The Medical Student Pride Alliance (MSPA) is proud to announce our new micro grant application process! We understand that being a part of the LGBTQ community can present financial challenges when pursuing a medical education, and we want to help. Our micro grants are designed to assist the broader MSPA community with the cost of medical school applications, residency applications, cost of living beyond what financial aid and scholarships cover, supplemental financial support for chapters, and additional unmet needs faced by our community. We have raised $1500 to provide several micro-grants up to $250 each.
To be eligible for this opportunity, you must
Identify within the LGBTQ community,
Be a member of MSPA, and
Be either (1) a current medical student at an accredited medical college accredited by LCME or COCA, or (2) a current chapter of MSPA with all documents up to date.
The application process is open March 8th through March 22nd. Our Financial Affairs team, Executive Board, and Advisory Board will review all applications, with grants planned to be released near the end of April 2023. Thanks to the generosity of our Out Together donors in 2021, we have been able to provide funds for this first grant pool.
