We are excited to announce our 4th annual Chapter of the Year award. Please read below regarding how to apply!

The Medical Student Pride Alliance (MSPA) Chapter of the Year Award seeks to recognize the outstanding achievements and efforts of our national chapters that exemplify the mission of MSPA. 

OUR MISSION: 

  • Unite all LGBTQ+ medical students.

  • Serve as a forum for discussion on LGBTQ+ topics in medicine

  • Serve as the voice for LGBTQ+ medical students in national dialogue

  • Increase collaboration among queer medical communities

  • Promote recruitment of queer students into medicine

  • Advocate for the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals in healthcare

  • Educate medical students on LGBTQ+ health issues.

The selected chapter will:

  1. Interact with national membership by participation on the National Leadership Team

  2. Emphasize community service and educational events. 

  3. (In the future) Send attendees to national MSPA meetings/conferences.

  4. (In the future) Participate in the local, regional, and national levels of MSPA.

  5. (In the future) Seek to engage area unaffiliated national members in chapter events.

Selection Committee:

All members of the National Leadership Team. Any members of a nominated chapter shall be excused from the selection committee.

  • February 15th, 2024, at 11:59 PM PST: All self-nominations and supplemental materials due to Campus Affiliates. Campus@Medpride.org 

    • Subject line Email: “Chapter of the Year Nominee School Name”

    • Supplemental Materials to include, but are not limited to:

      • Provide a Chapter Activity Summary of the past year’s accomplishments, in any file format you wish – PowerPoint, Excel, word document etc. The summary should include a list of events, with brief descriptions, that your chapter has hosted

        • Here you may include additional information about your Chapter from the past year that you would like us to know about

      • Additional photos if not included in the Summary

      • Up to Date Chapter Leadership and Roster

      • Institution’s Mailing Address

  • Selections will be announced shortly afterwards

  • The selected chapter will receive our Chapter of the Year Award plaque and $200 for funding future MSPA events!

  • We look forward to reading about your accomplishments!
