About MSPA

Founded in 2018 by five medical students, MSPA is a 501c3 non-profit advocacy and social organization committed to empowering current and prospective LGBTQIA+ medical students, increasing the number of physicians trained in LGBTQ-inclusive healthcare, and addressing the unique needs of queer communities through research, advocacy, education, and service. Our organization is run by students who volunteer their time in service of others. Upon its launch, MSPA filled an unmet need as LGBTQ+ medical students had few options for support, resources, and community. Since its creation, MSPA has grown into an organization led by a National Leadership Team of more than 50 LGBTQ+ medical students who engage with more than 100 chapters and 2000 medical students nationwide.

Our Mission
