MSPA’s Response to COVID-19
March 18, 2020

We want to take this moment to acknowledge the heaviness of this week. We are living through a difficult and rapidly changing landscape with the spread of COVID-19 - many of us have had exams indefinitely postponed, clerkships canceled, and celebrations called off. We're fearing for our own safety, the safety of our loved ones, and of those on the front lines, all while unable to physically access the communities that support us. Take the time to feel what you are feeling - and be gentle with yourself. Our broader, intergenerational LGBTQ+ family has a history of resilience, power and radical love in the face of fear and uncertainty - we are connected in this shared history, and will continue to uplift each other in the coming weeks.

As we transition to a period of physical distancing and virtual connectedness, MSPA will be focusing its efforts on strengthening our community. We invite you to join in on the virtual events, even if you have never taken part in an MSPA event before. We'll keep you updated via email, our Chapters Slack page, our Facebook group or our social media sites (Twitter and Instagram). Follow along with any medium that works best for you. If you have any thoughts on what you'd like to see, please let us know. If you're interested in organizing events, we'd love to have you on our National Leadership Team.

Take care of yourselves, and of each other. We're in this moment together.

In solidarity,
MSPA National Leadership Team
