MSPA stands in solidarity with Black female physicians and against racism
February 19, 2021

“We stand with Dr. Dennar, Dr. Khoury, and Black women in medicine everywhere.”

“At MSPA, we acknowledge that institutional racism is widespread and destructive to our medical community. We are keenly aware of the ways in which anti-Black racism and misogyny combine to disproportionately affect Black women physicians in our workforce. We stand with our Black women colleagues at Tulane, Kaiser, and other institutions and health systems who unduly experience a culture of white supremacy that time and time again undercuts their accomplishments, disciplines them for their advocacy, and dismisses their humanity.”

Part of being a better ally is learning that it is not enough to simply be not racist, we must actively become anti-racist.
